Bars in Ruston close at 2 now, not midnight.
I just checked online and this is true. It just went through a couple of months ago. I got the Hell outta there in June so did not know this. I'm sure there was baptists pushback but good on the alderman and Mayor Walker for getting this through.

is the Q Stick(nasty) still out there? or is it something else now?
It had just been turned into 3Docs when I moved there and was actually a pretty cool bar except on certain nights where they catered to the Grambling crowd. Then eventually they tried to make a club out of it called Pulse that was the absolute overpriced worst.
Now it's a liquor store and deli. It was the first place to stay open selling booze past 6:00 PM on Sundays and it was very close to my house. I loved it. Before I moved they were going to open a small portion of it into a bar but the flooding last March put a delay to that and I'm not sure if they ever followed through.

What is Stowe's called now?
Abandoned. They shut down right before I moved there.
I think the Ruston Daily Leader may have over part the building.

That place was sketchy before they redid it. Spools for tables, ice in the piss trough, and a dog and cat behind the bar

Correct on it just happening and also correct on the Baptist pushback. Looking at social media, people got tired of the baptist running everything finally. I'm a Christian myself and I thought it was ridiculous how much control they have over Ruston, or had.

What was your freshman year?
Posted on 12/16/16 at 8:52 am to upgrayedd
2002/2003
I can't remember if that was the last year for students to be in Caruthers or not, but if it wasn't, it didn't last much longer
Katrina refugees stayed in it for a solid year

Never really ventured far off from business school in my year there.
Not sure when you were there but they tore down the old business building in 2012. The new one is across the street and is absolutely gorgeous. They're actually expanding it right now.

Saw Willie Nelson there when they opened the big venue in the back. It rained like crazy the day before and turned that place into a giant mud pit
