Nah.....It's the bars. Have to shut the bars down that are stimulating the economy.

It's likely both. An enclosed, crowded area that for obvious reasons makes people want to get close together is not a "safe" place to be with what we know about SARS 2.0.

But there is definitely a lot of dishonesty going on by not examining the protests. The ages and timing are too coincidental for them to not have had an effect.

I thought I read on the OT that there has been virtually no evidence of the virus being spread while outdoors.

I thought I saw an article that there has been some admittance that the protests likely contributed to the spikes.

There's nothing inherently magical about indoors vs. outdoors, mask vs. no mask, < 6 ft or > 6 ft. It's all varying degrees of risk and probability.

Mask use may indeed help screen outgoing respiratory droplets reducing infectious spread. However, if you're standing in one spot screaming for 6 hours next to the same batch of people, any benefit should no longer be inferred.

Same with distance and presence outdoors. Being 5 ft away from someone talking normally is going to be less risky than shouting while 6.5 ft apart. Marching down the same street in close proximity for 4 hours is going to be more risky than passing someone in the hallway.

Inconsistency, outright reversal of findings.

Only on days ending in "y" do we get new findings contradicting previous findings.

Mask, no mask, mask
surface infections, no surface infections
airborne, not airborne
only droplet, everything
turn off ac as it recirculates but wear mask to keep recirculating

Looking forward to shaking the magic 8 ball today.

I don't think that applies if everyone is dancing and rubbing on each other as in this video :

Even the liberal mayor of L.A. has admitted it, but people on here will complain about others omitting facts while they actually do the same.

Protesters are in a bit of a conundrum.

If too many admit to being at a protest if they test positive, then they and the protests receive criticism.

They’re also cheering for cases to spike in many parts of the country. They’re trying to quietly get the word out to their friends, families, co-workers, as well as other protesters to get tested in the hope these asymptotic people will test positive to drive up those numbers.

That’s hard to do without the result being some admittance protests contributed to the spike.

Thankfully, CNN is here to set the record straight.

It's being overshadowed by the fact that most of the COVID deaths are still coming from the age group that attended the Trump rally in Tulsa.
