It's too damn expensive to have/raise a child now the way we want to with 5000 sq. ft. homes , 24/7 nanny help, and three vacations a year

That's an odd statement since millennials are purchasing smaller homes at a reduced rate from previous generations. They also take fewer vacation days on average than older workers. Can't really speak about the nanny thing because I couldn't find any stats about that.

It sounds to me like someone is projecting.

I can promise you one thing, had someone showed me the cost today of what my kids cost 10 years ago, i have a serious idea that i May have been single for the rest of of my life.

Kids are crazy expensive and it’s only gonna keep costing more as the years come

Wives are more expensive than kids, in my experience.

If you make good money, it’s not bad. If you don’t make good money, there’s plenty of government money for the taking. When my BIL had his first kid, poor as frick, they lived in a single wide behind a churches chicken and their pantry and fridge was fricking packed and stacked. Med care for the kids- free.

The thing with having kids that is tough is being man enough (or woman-enough) to take responsibility and alter your lifestyle for the good of your child.

That’s perhaps what millennials are struggling with.

that plus stagnant wages. I had my first kid at 22, I love the kid to death, but it literally set me back 10 years compared to all of my friends that didn't have kids.

You see more and more couples (even those young)facing fertility problems now. That was my point.

It's due to birth control. BC causes massive fertility issues

My pitbulls love little kids. My 2 little nieces love playing with them and vica versa.

Sorry the OT is full of dumbasses who can't think for themselves.

It's not the fricking that's the problem. It's that we're too smart to want to have kids at a young age and want to enjoy life while we are young.

You enjoy life a lot more when kids are around.

I actually think ibuprofen has been the worst thing for fertility bar-none.

It has been proven to destroy fertility in men and was first marketed starting in 1974, and slowly built popularity until 1984 when it was released OTC and then it exploded in popularity. The people born around 1984 are the first group of people (I know a few men born in 1981, but that's about it) I've known that have rampant fertility problems... Once again: ibuprofen

ETA: the report was released REALLY recently. Like 2 weeks ago recent: LINK
