Kim Kardashian West has legal ambitions.

The reality TV star wants to take the California bar exam in 2022, she said in an interview with Vogue.

"I had to think long and hard about this," she said.

Kardashian West said she began a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in San Francisco last summer.

California is one of four states that allows someone an alternate method to take the bar exam other than attending law school.

This is a good thing, imo.

I will say an apprenticeship plus studying on your own for the bar is a much better method for becoming an attorney than 3 years of law school

Good for her. She’s smart enough she can do whatever she puts her mind to.

To be fair I’d trust a new lawyer fresh from a 4 year apprenticeship More than I would a new lawyer fresh out of law school

But can an ordinary person get a four-year apprenticeship at a law firm? That doesn't sound normal.

Edit: nvm

quote:

"In California, for example, a person can become a lawyer by working and studying in the office of a lawyer or judge for 18 hours per week for four years. The supervising attorney must provide five hours of direct supervision per week, and must administer exams to the apprentice to test his or her learning. New York, Wyoming, and Maine all allow people to become lawyers through a combination of law school and apprenticeship."

She will probably not pass the bar exam.

This family continues to fail up, it's historic and outrageous.

Well like the article says there are only 4 states that allow alternative methods so no it’s not normal

I’d assume in those states you’d either have to know someone or perhaps they have appentiship programs set up

It's a stunt so she can help minorities out of jail. Now, I agree there are people in jail who do not deserve to be.

She probably wont pass the bar, but I dont have any faith in things like that, when the people attempting have a lot of money and media influence, especially in California.

I'm sure she was there 40-60 hours a week just immersing herself in the ways of the barrister if she passes the bar there should probably be something to look in to
