Mine didn't wear those. I think they were some sort of Sears and Roebuck pant that came in pea green, dark blue, black and brown.
When I was about 9 he'd make me push the mower through our rather thick St. Augustine grass lawn. He didn't want to put the bag on the back of the mower and the shite would blow all over my bare legs. So to keep me from getting my pants ruined he'd get me to wear his work pants with the cuffs rolled and my belt. He was 6'3". I don't know what the Hell he was thinking. Good times getting nailed by the occasional rock or stick.

That’s cause they were kids of the depression and folks then rich and poor were made to be stingy.
I bought one of those two years ago and rock it on the boat when doing maintenance...
Pops was smarter than all of you millennial China supporters!

My Grandfathers lived in them. It was the go-to Christmas present.

I was born in 1970...
Not my dad, but my granddad did. The granddad that was the bookie and who taught me how to play pool when I was 5 or 6 by taking me with him to do pickups at various pool halls and bar rooms in the Harahan/Jefferson area.

My FIL wore one almost every day. He was 6'4" and I have no idea where he bought them long enough.
