Hold the frick up. Rabies is fatal?! My dad had to get rabies shots when I was younger and I wasn't worried at all. I should have been freaking out

Rabies is 100% fatal if untreated with prophylactic shots. Bats are actually one of the most common vectors for rabies to humans.

Anytime a bat bites or is aggressive, it probably has aids. I've seen kids pick up and play with a bat that was dive bombing them injured itself. No amount of talking could convince those kids how stupid it is to play with a bat. Keep in mind, a person can get rabies from a carrier without being bitten.

That's if you get treatment BEFORE symptoms start. Once they start, that means the virus was irreversible and 100% fatal.

Skunks too! Pretty much if you see a skunk in the daytime, it's a rabid skunk. Skunks are so prone to rabies that populations of skunks in areas run in cycles: big increase in population, rabies occurs, die off decreases population drastically, rebound and repeat.
Another sign in skunks besides just being about in daylight for rabies, when approached they will face their attacker instead of turning to spray. Makes it really easy to kill them with a .22 when they stand head first looking up at ya from 10 feet away. Put the bullet in just under the chin and it comes out their butthole.
