What he said. Key West has incredible food if you know the spots. Do a tripadvisor search next time and/or read all of the threads on here for suggestions.

Love hearing the stories. The ride back is so bad. Everyone is so hungover. I don't get seasick, but me driving home tonight wasn't great. I didn't drink today, but I felt like I was still on a boat, and the highway felt hypnotic. Feel like I'm still moving, thus the late night posting. Will have to check out the Hemingway House next time.

Key West, and it's not even close.

Tell me about the Fort Myers/Key West ferry. I've never gone to the Keys that way.

So, I am about 25 min from the Ferry. 8:30am departure on your day of choosing. Bar opens upon departure. No bag check, so keep 'em with you. Get off basically on Duval, about 3-4 hours later (5 hour drive from Naples). Return trip at 6pm, whichever day you decide. We did Friday morning-Sunday night. $150/person+$35 parking. Great way to get there and back with no worries!

Yeah the ferry is definitely worth it. We are goin back to Bonita beach on the 5th but haven't decided on Key West yet. Once ya go a few times there's not much more to see.

Next time you go there go to El Siboney. Very good Cuban food.

They have a world of beer, which has a corporate feel but the owner is very cool and she keeps some great beer in the bar.

If it's called world of beer it is a chain so I could see the corporate feel.

I know. I'm just saying that the corporate feel will automatically turn people away but it's worth a stop in if you're there

Got it. I brought it up because I was actually curious if it was the chain. Sounds like it was.

Yea it's a chain. Some of them are terrible and some aren't. Key West is a good one.

This is surprising - we found the food there was great. Cuban, Caribbean, whatever. Just don't go eat expecting it to taste like everything in NOLA or SoLA. Different cuisine, and really good.

Same. We just went about 2 weeks ago. Actually didn't stay in Islamorada, but Duck Key at Hawks Cay resort. Went back to Islamorada to fish. Did go down to Key West while there. It was nice. Liked visiting Hemmingway's house and stuff. And Duval street is a nice clean version of Bourbon. But it got old to me quick. I already have the itch to book another trip down there and Key West is last on my list of things to do again. Nothing wrong with it, but not something so really want to do all that bad. Plus growing up with Bourbon Street near you kind of allows you to get that type of experience out of your system (in terms of Duval Street, there certainly is other stuff to do).
I prefer relaxing with less people around.
