The Commonwealth wants to have a meteorologist testify about the "hardness" of the ground on the night that Officer John O'keefe lost his life.

You wouldn't be able to write this script.

The hearing tomorrow will be must watch.

Just started today’s hearing. Anything I should be listening for? I’m only 30 minutes in to Melanie Little’s stream and she’s kind of annoying me already about how much she is showing her dislike for the judge.

TBF I’m not a fan of the judge, either.

.

I have to agree with Melanie on the judge. Hank Brennan is at that level as well. Once you get into the trial as much as Melanie you may very likely feel the same way about the judge.

Just today she told the defense not to speculate on anything but then when the prosecution gets up there and speculates about facts she doesn’t say a word.

I’m not either but her criticism so far seems over the top and unnecessary. She didn’t like that the judge wanted to take a few minutes to look over the defense’s notebook then when the judge came back three minutes later, she didn’t like that the judge didn’t read the entire thing.

Fixed that for the judge.

Yeah I can see that. She’s way more emotionally involved than I am. It just seemed like she started off nitpicking everything. I’m sure I’ll understand it more as I keep listening.

The state produced a video that was found to be mirrored in the middle of trial and no one from the state stated that it was inverted on direct examination. Then as soon as the cross starts the detective admits it was mirrored.

Other things in the video seem to show that the video was edited. Now the state can’t produce the meta data to show if the video was edited or not. Not a single peep from the judge during trial or when the defense ask for the meta data of the video.

It all seems crazy to me and does seem to show that the judge is not just a gate keeper of the law.

I wasn't able to watch the Commonwealth's rebuttal to the defense response to the allegations of rule 14 violations, but Brennan seemed to double down at the very beginning with his theory that had very little basis in fact.

Yeah I remember all of the video stuff. That’s probably the craziest part to me. I have no clue how it’s not required for the commonwealth to track down and find every single person that sent over video evidence at any point and where they got it from.

A redacted motion to dismiss has been filed. Melanie little has a video up reviewing the motion. I won’t be able to watch it until later.

I know a lot has happened over that past week and I have 100% kept up with all of it, but it seems like there is way to much controversy of how and what all video needs to be turned over. I’m not sure how this type of stuff isn’t court mandated

I watched the first trial. I'm not convinced she killed him. If she did, she possibly did not remember or it was an accident . She was very drunk and her BAC was still very high at 9am the next morning. What I did come away with is that these people have a drinking problem.

That was not proven in the first trial. They took her BAC at 9am and did an extrapolation to determine what her BAC was that night. The problem is you have to know that time of someone's last drink to do that.

While all of these eyewitnesses say that she said "I hit him" not a single witness said anything about Karen Read being drunk.

She DID NOT hit him with the vehicle especially at 24mph as stated by the CW. I'm at 99% that she had absolutely nothing to do with OJO's death. The 1% doubt is just a cya that anything is possible.

After yesterday I kind of hope the judge allows the dog behaviorist to testify about the scratches on OJO's arm not being from a dog. Alessi might end the guy's career as an expert witness.

Alessi used the witnesses own writings to show why he isn't qualified to testify in the trail, but I fully expert the judge to look the other way and allow him to rebut Dr. Russell.

The judge is proffering her own facts in court today.

ETA: This judge seems very biased.

Jackson's argument today as been explosive. The State of Mass. has some problems. Specifically the Norfolk DA's Office, The Mass. State Police, and Canton PD.

Currently listening to Emily Baker's stream and holy shite this looks bad for the commonwealth. Just when I think it's bad enough, it gets so much worse.

Didn't they have on camera at the bar that she had 7 drinks?

That is what a detective with the state testified to but he had zero evidence that the 7 drinks were alcoholic drinks.
