They paid Aperture AT LEAST $369,000 for one to falsify his CV, and the other to be an absolute hack "scientist".

They won't use them again

Here is a baseline of time from the first trial. We are at 18 hours in trial 2:

In the first Karen Read trial, the jury first indicated they were deadlocked on June 28, 2024, in a note sent to Judge Beverly Cannone after about 20 hours of deliberation over four days. They stated they were "deeply divided" and unable to reach a unanimous verdict despite exhaustive efforts. The judge instructed them to continue deliberating with a Tuey-Rodriguez instruction, but they remained deadlocked, leading to a mistrial declared on July 1, 2024.

The DA pretty much has an unlimited budget.
If they want to continue, they may outlast Karen in that department, but nobody has an unlimited budget.

Her go fund me has her covered and I think some of her lawyers are pro bono? Is that right or did I dream that?

Yeah, but they had already marked not guilty on 2 of those charges.

Are you talking about trial 1? Not officially they didn't.

The commonwealth is not going to walk away from that IMO. They’ve already paid experts at least half a million. They can use those experts again, and refine their opinions, so it will not cost nearly as much for a third trial.

There’s no way in hell they use Aperture again after this trial. However, I would pay good money for tickets to see them try.

The gofundme has covered bringing in witnesses and stuff like that but yeah, Allan Jackson and her other lawyers have all decided to not take a penny because they can't stand there and let an innocent woman burn.

They may have a deal in place for when the money from book & tv deals start rolling in they'll get something from it.

I could be wrong, but I think it was said yesterday that the jury was hung up on the 5th option and had voted NG for the first two...

You are wrong.

They asked a hypothetical, "If we find not guilty on two charges but can't agree on one charge, is it a hung jury on all three charges or just one charge?"

Nothing has officially happened in this trial regarding verdict, and nothing official happened in trial one regarding any verdicts aside from a mistrial without prejudice due to a hung jury.

I see.

I just saw this on the youtube page I go to to watch the trial.

Just a note we learned today that the jury can deliberate through lunch but since court staff is on lunch no announcement will be made from 12:30 - 1:30. We will keep the clock running during lunch!

I hope so. I hope her team gets square for their time invested. If she’s found NG I’m sure family will file a wrongful death suit which is civil and a little easier to prove so future income may be tied to that…but I hope her and her team make a billion dollars lol

The family has already filed a civil action against Karen Read, and Canton bars C.F. McCarthy's and the Waterfall. It is currently stayed awaiting the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.

it’s common for defense attorneys to take very high profile cases pro bono because the exposure more than makes up for it

What are your odds of winning a civil case (as a plaintiff) when a person has been found NG of criminal? I’m thinking OJ as the example of losing civil while winning criminal

This is often true, but a third trial would potentially be tough to justify doing. He's been on this case for over 3 years.

That said, he is a partner at an LA firm so they all may be reaping the benefits from the noteriety, and he may not need to be actually practicing as much.

This is uncommon for several reasons. One being the obvious that there may not be enough evidence to be found liable even at the civil standard. But not speaking about facts of any case, relatively VERY few cases even go to trial. In Massachusetts in 2019, 4.42% of cases went to trial. Conviction rates are roughly 75%?

So based on that, about 1% of all criminal cases have a finding of not guilty. Of that 1%, it's uncommon for a civil court to find liability for the alleged underlying criminal action.
