Ok, fair enough. My point is that if you stand against normal civil rights for "gay people", you're ensuring that they will be your social and political enemy just as fervently as the fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent people who you are actually concerned about. Liberals are great about coalition building; conservatives fricking suck at it.
