The additional three weeks will provide schools time to get masks, thermometers, hand sanitizer and other necessary COVID-19 mitigation supplies.
They've had months to prepare.

Again,
The common flu is twice as likely to kill someone under the age of 20 than COVID-18. Yet, we don’t shut down schools for the common flu.
While that's true, it doesn't mean that there won't be issues when they get infected and bring it home to their parents and grandparents.

Hopefully JBE signs an EO for schools not to open until Veterans Day.

She’s been fricking ridiculous from day 1 of this shite. I get being cautious and shite but frick
She hasn't been Gavin Newsom or Andrew Cuomo level of bad but she hasn't been good either. The mask mandate is a bit deceiving in that 90% of the counties have opted out of it. However the 10% percent that haven't contain half the population of the state. I live in a county of 175,000 people. We just had our thousandth COVID case diagnosed yesterday. There are two top notch hospitals in my county. There is a total of ten people hospitalized for COVID in both of them combined. We have had 13 deaths total. Despite all of those statistics the county government is going along with her mask mandate. I'm hoping every elected official up for re-election that voted in favor of this loses by one vote because that vote will be mine.

Thats the total safety fallacy.
There is no scenario where you can prevent exposure. It is simply going to happen, at some point, no matter how much you restrict normal life.
What these measures do is slow the progression of the virus.
They do not lower the death toll however.

It’s better to be exposed to it now, when the average person is more active, and spending more time in the sun.

What's going to happen when cases plummet because we start getting actual correct testing results?

She’ll find some other reason to be ridiculous I’m sure

Why wasn't this being done in I don't know June or early July??????

This is a pretty big point. We keep doing the cat and mouse thing with the healthy younger people and the virus is going to still spread. Once we get into November up north, it's going to spike again along with the flu cases.
Seems like common sense to me to let it run it's course now and protect the old and weak right now.
