Today I announced that I will issue an executive order to delay opening schools until after the Labor Day holiday. The additional three weeks will provide schools time to get masks, thermometers, hand sanitizer and other necessary COVID-19 mitigation supplies.

What good is this even going to do? Virus is going to go away by then? Schools purchasing laptops and internet providers for every student to do distant learning?

If you can't get these "supplies" in 5 weeks then I doubt the 8-week timeline is any different. Come up with a better excuse or tell the truth... if you are scared or think it's best for the public then fricking say it (even if many don't agree). At least be sincere you arse clown.

School is set to start August 28th here in my district in Texas, but the governor is giving districts the option to delay their start for four weeks if they see fit.

Again,

The common flu is twice as likely to kill someone under the age of 20 than COVID-18. Yet, we don’t shut down schools for the common flu.

I am a believer in local government. But then I downloaded Nextdoor and lost hope for all humanity.

Not before the election. But, after November 3rd, it’ll all be clear.

I don't think it will be this easy. President has actually done the proper thing and allowed state/local governments to do what they feel is best for their people. If a democrat is ANYWHERE in the food chain from President down to local mayors then we sit in limbo.

Is COVID actually bad in Kansas?

Edit: Answered my own question. The answer is COVID doesn't care about Kansas.

Hell, we used to start school on the Wednesday before Labor Day. Go 3 days, have a 3 day weekend. Football season started the next Friday.

This is all emotional pandering. There’s no medical or practical justification for it.
