, I thought this was a typo at first.

The article is worded weirdly - you wouldn't think she is getting a $72M payment all at once for 72 shows. Also, I'm sure she acted in some of those shows while they were together, which seems like it would be difficult to protect IF he wanted the money.

Idk cause she signed the new contract for $1M/episode while they were married. Her previous contracts were signed before they were together.

She really uglied herself up with the short hair.

I don't think uglied is the right word. Also, she posted a pic online the other day with her hair longer again.

Exactly. And I'm going to bet the assets he was thinking of at the time were not financial either.

$225k and knowing that every time you see her on TV you can look at your buddies and say "that woman sucked my dick, a lot." ?

I'd be a happy camper.

Biggest WTF in all that. How the shite do trainers cost 266k?

If it was the guy with the money, the prenup would already be dissected and she would be getting half.

Not really. Pre-nups can generally include whatever they want. Absent fraud or duress the agreement would be enforced.

Most marriages between rich folks today generally have pre-nips that say each person walks away from the marriage with whatever money they made during the marriage.

Those are already protected through law no matter what. At least in Louisiana they are. Prenup are written to protect earnings made during marriage and future earnigns

Oh, and I wonder how much her male counterparts on the show are making compared to her? gender inequality anyone?

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic, but I know that show would have been cancelled in it's first season if they replaced her with some fat slob of a woman

Good point. I guess it just seems rare to see such a decisive victory for one of the parties.

Not really you just don't hear about them that often.

Very rarely. However, I know Sweeting personally. There is a good chance he did some shady shite that led to the divorce and just accepted the pre-nup in order to not make his transgressions public.

ETA: I grew up with both of them playing tennis

That's my understanding of it. I got married and divorced in New York, and all of my assets from before the marriage were automatically mine despite there being no pre-nup. In New York, only income and property that is acquired during the marriage is considered marital property.

Unfortunately, my wife was a full-time student (we were both students when we met) and only worked part-time internships, so when I divorced her, I had to give her a lot of what we (I) had saved, plus have to pay her support until the end of this year.

On the bright side, we were only married two years, and she had acquired a lot of student loan debt before we married. So what I had to give her plus the alimony I still owe is equal to her debt, which I'm not on the hook for. If we had stayed married, I would have had to pay that debt back, because she wasn't going to make anywhere near as much as I do.

I will get a pre-nup next time, and be smarter with who I marry. Yay, learning experiences.

If she'd have bigger calves and longer shins, she would be perfect.
