This thread is about one day's "buzz" value of the new marketing campaign. So I just used the same timeframe to counter its success after one day.

Fair enough. I think it will prove to be a bad move, but Nike's marketing is world-class, so who knows?

This buzz value is pretty weak, I agree.

This will be a non issue in a year after the campaign is over.

The DAX, which is the primary exchange for both Adidas & Puma, fell today more than 1%. Those stocks you mentioned were down approx 1.85% & 2.4%. Their ADRs fell accordingly on the NYSE.

Nike was down more that 3% on the NYSE today while the overall U.S. market was down by less than .2%.

Your premise is flawed.

Yeah, and Nike, Adidas, and Puma aren't terribly correlated in the first place.

My wife just asked "what's up with Nike?"

I just don't see much upside in the decision for Nike. Maybe they were feeling pressure from athletes to make some kind of stand. Idk.

Me either.

Although I'm not entirely certain what they did. Is it a TV commercial?

I didn't see boycott movement of Nike until today. Face it this is just the right wing version of outrage culture and it's your own bias that's clouding your mind

Probably not since you're heavily invested in left wing propaganda, but it was a thing for years.

Left wing media has been covering up/ignoring nike boycotts for years?

It's a conspiracy, Alex Jones said so and he's always right.

Maybe you should read the thread before saying something that's so wrong. Just jumping in the middle of a conversation isn't wise

Youre question wasn't related to the discussion.

The discussion about the people who woke up this morning and decided to boycott nike after running a Kaep ad?

The guy leading the boycott nike charge on this board stated that he was bordeline obsessed with Nike for the past 20+ years prior to this morning.

Advertising exposure? Show me sales and stock prices.

I don’t even know how they quantified this. It’s not like Nike was a secret before this ad.

Well the issue goes way back with Uncle Phils involvement in left wing social causes. You might can understand whtpy people on the right were a bit excited when they found out about sweatshop labor practices.

Only two questions matter about this Nike / Kaepernick affair.

1. How many people who otherwise would not buy a Nike product will now do so because of this ad campaign?

2. How many people who otherwise would buy a Nike product will not do so because of this ad campaign?

I would wager the answer to both questions is a negligible amount.

I haven't bought Nike in decades, the quality for what you pay just isn't there.
