That's where these athletes get screwed. They could earn $20 million one year and then zero for the rest of their lives, but the judge will be forced to decree a percentage of the $20 million, 90% of which will go towards Baby Mama's luxury shopping and vacations.
Oh, and they can and will garnish those NFL wages. I knew a guy who worked in an accounting role for an NFL team and he was "mind blown" over some of the paperwork, calls and accounting he had to do on this issue. Not to mention how many of these guys had to take out loans or salary advances.
