I’ve never seen anything other than second hand sources and “allegedly” that says he called him a racial slur. I’ll stand corrected if that’s entered as actual evidence.
I think that these guys deserve jail most likely and thought Chauvin was guilty (but definitely guilty of) manslaughter at most.
Bringing up an “alleged” comment or making all the riots about George Floyd’s race when it didn’t have anything to do with that just exacerbates the situation unjustly.

Anything he said does not matter.... these white guys took it upon themselves to basically hunt this kid down and filmed it...... and then shot him .... why?????? We’re they cops????

I’m not defending them. Everything I know of the case would render a guilty verdict. Just saying they may have not set out to kill a black person when they left the house.

Unless some evidence comes out in trial that says contrary. I think this will be a fairly easy guilty verdict for murder.
I hope the former cop's buddies in the department and DA officewho helped sweep this thing under the rug get thoroughly investigated. They sat on this video for months. Nothing happened at all until the video got leaked to the public.

At best, to detain a guy robbing a construction site. At worst to threaten a guy that was they assumed was robbing a construction site and kill him.
An incongruent anecdote:
I live in a historic neighborhood. Lots of low income and lots of rich people mixed together. One of my neighbors is an elderly black lady with no car. She asks me for rides fairly regularly to less savory parts of town to see her friends and family.
I happily oblige, but I carry every single time. I am fully willing to use that to protect myself, but if a situation ever comes up where I have to use it, I know there would be questions about why I armed myself and if I was out looking for a confrontation.
Whether these guys left the house to kill AA or just question/confront him is beyond any of us, but they made a stupid split second decision to bring guns in a volatile situation and are left with the consequences of their stupidity, race motivated or not.

I've argued from the beginning that these two (possibly three) bozos are done for. And I still believe that. But hate crime charges as a concept are dumb. I hope they get hit with the most severe charges, but screw this hate crime shite.

I'm not sure what difference it really makes, but the fact that he used a shotgun suggests he wasn't carrying to defend himself. I don't carry a gun, but if I did it certainly wouldn't be a shotgun.
Of course, it's rural Georgia so he may just always have a shotgun in his car. Not sure why he'd have a loaded one.
