My goal is no more than 12 hours a day. I adjust for that.

That doesn’t make any sense.

I just cleaned my outside unit coils and hosed it out real good. First time I’ve done it but will make sure to do this yearly moving forward. The unit sounds like it’s running so much easier and has to make it more efficient.

About to have to spread my cheeks for a replacement for one of my units. All because Al Gore and his acolytes determined that R22 was bad.

Are you 80? My mom keeps hers around there and it's uncomfortable imo.

We keep ours on 71 year around. I don't even adjust it when we aren't home.

Old unit, isn't powerful enough for this house. I'm not going to work it to death.

I went through 2022 without AC. Daily inside temp. reached 90 degrees.

I had to clean ants out of the contacts on my compressor yesterday.

I had to do this last year when it was 100 degrees. Unit stopped working. Immediately was thinking capacitor. Opened up unit and noticed a single black (sugar) ant in the unit but didn't think anything of it. Went get replacement capacitor. But they only had Chinese brand left in stock. Installed new capacitor and unit still didn't work. Then I immediately thought of the ant. Sprayed insect killer in contacts. Blew some air and sure enough about 4-5 ants came out. been rockin ever since.

I did get an American made capacitor as back up cause I know that Chinese POS wont last long.

Well clearly you’re not a man if you’re capable of tolerating an indoor temp higher than 70 degrees.

Well, it does explain the number of posts bitching about the heat whenever we start hitting 80 on a regular basis

Yesterday was the first time I that I ever cleaned them myself. Glad I was around when my AC guy was out the last time. I was praying that was the problem something easy to fix because yesterday was Hot. Got up to 99 here today.

Well that is understandable. The New Iberia haircut makes you at least 20 degrees cooler than the average dude

I would have to see a picture of your haircut before I believe this.

I prefer to be at 69-70. But when it's over 90 outside I set to 75 in the day. 73 at night and 75 from 1am to 5am.

When I'm outside and come in 75 is enough.
Plus have fans in every room.

I need to clean the evap coils. I don't want to get in the attic, but these HVAC guys in Houston area don't do a good job.
