Pretty neat sight. It is supposed to be 254 miles up in orbit and booking it at 18k MPH. Went by pretty quick but a neat experience. Any of you ever catch a glimpse?

Is that what it was? I almost choked on my meth sandwich when I saw it.

Seen it 3 times. Very smooth and quick also saw a shuttle glowing orange over Nola headed to a Florida landing. That was awesome.

Agreed and the shuttle experience sounds neat as well!

Several times. The first time I looked up when it would fly over and was living across from the space and rocket center at the time. Got to see it fly by with the saturn v in the foreground.

Spot the Station

I’ve been watching for 5 or so years. Someone on here posted the link and I’ve been watching ever since. It’s cool as hell. I get text alerts. It’s really good when I’m in the country watching.

I saw it tonight. I'm subscribed to the text messages that say when is coming. This one was early enough for my 4 yo to see it too, he thought it was really cool.

I saw it in Denver one morning a few years ago as it flew overhead.

I bet, I saw it with partial cloud cover, not quite pitch black, and with city lights so I can imagine a good set up in the country would be a good view with a scope in particular.

It was fortuitous for me. I was walking this evening and heard a caller on Leland Live(awesome show in Birmingham) who said it was approaching. He gave the time and the angle to look at and it was flying over right as I was completing my walk so the timing was great and all.

Been watching it for several years. Good sighting last night and will be better Saturday night.

Boogies at 17,500 mph, which is about 10 times faster than the bullet leaving the barrel of my 270 Winchester rifle.

Just sign up on the link for text or email. The OT delivered it to me a few years ago.

Just missed it. Wish I would have seen this thread an hour or so earlier.

Set alarm for tomorrow and Saturday.

Thanks!

You can sign up for text notifications from NASA. Several apps also show when it comes to your area.

I just saw a greenish meteor/asteroid shoot across the southern sky. It was brighter than any other meteor I’ve ever seen.
