Went there recently.

Place has turned it up a notch. Even has an in house butcher.

By and large it's because of convenience and it's good enough to satisfy the tastebuds and wallet. Better restaurants fail all the time. Frankly, chain restaurants beat the snot out of most local restaurants. Chain restaurant satisfy people's perceived value better than most local mom and pop restaurants. Most mom and pop restaurants are ignorant as frick when it comes to knowing what creates a successful restaurant. For the chains to be successful, all they have to do is be slightly above average and locate in a high traffic area. That's all they have done and that's all they are capable of doing. If a local restaurant owner can't figure out how to beat that simple, unchanging formula, then they should find another bidness to start.

100k at Applebee's bar gets you night w erryone

Applebee's is the worst sit down restaurant in America. Just putrid in every facet.

The Chili's by my parents house stays packed especially on weekends.

When I think of Applebees I think of the movie Waiting and the redneck couple out on their anniversary.

Cheap beer

The chilis on college stays packed in the evenings. I can't even think of any Applebee's locations in BR. Is there one on Sherwood @ coursey?

Come on guys, it can't be that bad. It's hard to screw up a burger and fries to the point where it tastes bad.
