So I just moved here and would like to know from anyone with knowledge of the city where the best places to eat and good bars to watch sports are.

The locals probably have better ideas than me but the little strip off of President Clinton Ave with the Flying Saucer was pretty decent.

ETA - River Market area. Couldn't think of what it was called

I like Gusanos pizza, there’s a pretty cool piano bar next door and if you are looking for upscale dining, Sonny Williams is nice. I’m not a local though, just travel through several times a year

I went to College around there so I'm semi qualified to answer your question.

Obviously these are my preferences all of these are subjective. Interesting enough the locals will steer you mostly toward chains and the like because they don't know that places like the flying saucer and flying fish and willy D's are chains.

Restaurants:

South on Main (Modern Southern)
Root Cafe (Breakfast)
Arthur's (Steak)
Big Orange (Burgers)
Capital Bar and Grill (Gastro Pub)
Oyster Bar (Oysters)
Dizzy's (Casual) I fricking love this place. It's cheap and good.
Gus's Fried Chicken (Yes the chain from Memphis)
EJ's (Sandwich Shop)
Chi's (Asian)

Bars:

Whitewater (Hipster Dive)
Vino's (Punk Shows)
Rev Room (Best Music venue left since Juanita's closed)
Midtown (Open til 5am dive)
Lost 40 (Best Big Brewery)
Blue Canoe (Best Small Brewery)
Gusano's Pizza (Best place to watch a game and eat)
Tie Dugan's/Creegan's (Tied for best place to watch a game/Irish pubs)

Just one man's opinion.

Good luck and god speed. Not as terrible as people make it out to be. But after 4 years, I was ready to GTFO.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. And I moved from Shreveport so Little Rock is an upgrade no matter how bad people say it is

Lots of gangs in Little Rock. Don’t wear red if you’re south of the main interstate through Little Rock. You’ll get shot

I travel there often. I enjoy eating at The Pantry, Zanga Thai, Bruno's Little Italy, and Burges (lunch). Congrats on the upgrade from Shreveport!

Spent most of my life in Little Rock so far and I’m glad I’m alive.

Dizzy’s is one of my favorite places to eat anywhere and it is cheap. I drank a lot of beer at The Fountain, but dugans is fun and so is Creegans right across the river.

My great uncle was the mayor of north Little Rock.

He says if a car flashes their lights at you, don’t flash back or the gangs will kill you as part of their initiation. And he says don’t ask about the clintons. Same result.

We’ve traveled to Little Rock a couple times/yr. for the past 8 years. Favorite restaurant is Loca Luna - they are around 5-10 minutes away from downtown. Diverse menu and also do great pizzas.

The Riverfront area always seemed pretty cool. Day and night.

Lots of new places, restaurants out west off Chenal.

Little Rock is a cool town and very beautiful outdoor areas right outside. Pinnacle Mountain Park is awesome.

Sims bbq and Whole Hog are really good.

Look at that gang bringing rival duke and north Carolina fans together in unity.
