you need to look into fasting. it is a sustainable diet long term.
Everyone should YouTube Dr. eric berg and Dr. jason fung and watch their videos on fasting.

Good stuff, congrats! Im 6`3 and usually hovered around 220 pre-virus. During the shutdown I got up to about 240 with the gym being closed. I never really focused on my diet too closely before, but with no gym I decided to try keto. A month and a half in and I'm down to 210 and feel great. The first few weeks were tough, especially because I'm a huge beer lover and drinking beer is basically a requirement in my job.
For anyone that wants to try keto, do it. I was a skeptic at first, but I'm a believer now. Although if you have diabetes or insulin issues, I'd suggest talking to your doc first to make sure you will be safe to try it.
Couple of things I've noticed from personal experience... Buy tubs of butter and put it on damn near everything. It was surprisingly hard to get my daily fat intake to where it needed to be so butter is your best friend. As someone said, be wary of fruits. Many of them have TONS of natural carbs in them. Fiber is your friend. Each gram of fiber negates a gram of carbs, so you can still indulge on carbs as long as you compliment that intake with fiber. Take it easy at the gym for awhile. It takes some time for the body to get accustomed to using fats for energy and I personally found it tough to perform my usual routines at the gym once it reopened due to the lack of carbs for quick energy. Lastly have a cheat day once a week and take advantage of it. I've noticed some of my biggest weight losses have come after my days of 70-90+g of carbs as opposed to the usual <15g.

I think what you are trying to say is fiber nets against carbs in something because it's soluble. You can't eat pasta then take a bunch of metamucil and and "cancel" the pasta.

Which concentration camp documentaries show that eating less doesnt cause weight loss?

yep, i once got into a debate on here with someone and i told them sure exercise works. but its like cutting your lawn with a pair of scissors. that's not going to help you shed the pounds.
ITS ALL ABOUT THE FOOD INTAKE.
finally i 100% agree 'moving more' by taking up an activity like cycling, etc. motivate you mentally and also tend to help you self-police (who wants to eat a pizza after a sweaty workout?) but you have to look upon it as side perk with the endorphins you release from working out and not what is actually going to help you drop weight.
at the peak of my amateur cycling career i would go for a hard ride both sat and sun in excess of 100 miles each day including hill climbs and street sign sprints and would chug a couple gallons of water and literally only eat a handful of nuts the rest of the day.
come monday i wouldn't have dropped a single ounce. i felt like i must have burned 10-15,000 calories over the weekend but my body would hold steady at the weight i was at.
even went so far as to fast for 3 days prior to the state time trial trying to get another pound or 2 lighter since that was the only variable left to improve performance.

I gained 20 since the Corona. It was easy really. Just increase your takeout, sweets, and beer intake. But I have to be honest. The first ten pounds was mostly just beer weight.

I’m 6’6” as well. January 1 2019 I was 295 and started a form of dirty keto. Stayed pretty stringent with exception of a few weeks/weekends where I’d stray and eat whatever (planned). By thanksgiving I was down to 218. Through the holidays I bounced in and out of low carb and got up to 230. Been hovering between 225-235 since. My original goal was 270 so keep going and see where it takes you!

Congrats man. I was in the same boat as you. I was 300 lbs and started Keto and lost weight quick. After a month, my metabolism started to slow down and I switched to Keto and intermittent fasting (No, I am not Joe Rogan) and the weight loss accelerated again. I lost 60 pounds in less than 4 months. I know tons of people make fun of intermittent fasting being the cross fit of dieting but it is the only thing that worked for me. I would feel great all day long with no afternoon slump. I highly recommend it with Keto.
