Just great: LSU student athletes driving AAAS course requirement

Here is a story from the Reveille today about the vote by the Faculty Senate this afternoon to require all LSU students to take a course in African and African American Studies. Hopefully rational heads will prevail and defeat this proposal.

I really do hate what my alma mater has become over the last 10 years. I don't have a racist bone in my body but it is not right to require all students to take African American Studies.

It’s incredible how far LSU’s falling in the decade since the canned Sean O'Keefe. LSU was on an upwards trajectory at the end of the 2000s.

I took "Minorities and the Media" at LSU. It was a Manship school elective at the time; although it was the only Manship school elective that was available during that particular semester.

Great, a bunch of guys who needs the academic center for athletes to read all their course material to them are trying to change what is a school core requirement.

I took African American history in undergrad.
My motivation was the professor was interesting. Old, Black guy from North Louisiana.
Anyway.
Most of the Black students didn't give a frick.
It was sad. You could tell it really irked the professor.

I took one in college. Was 1 of 3 white people in the class. Professor was cool af, we played basketball at the rec together a ton. I was also 1 of 5 who didn’t get an F on the midterm and final. That’s all i got
