Medical care isn't medical insurance.

Imagine presenting your homeowner's policy at Ace Hardware every time you went to buy lightbulbs or presenting your vehicle insurance policy to the guy at the carwash.

Contrast that with the current system of using medical insurance for every single health related transaction you make.

As someone else pointed out, how different would a trip to the grocery be if you didn't find out how much you spent until you were mailed a bill two weeks later?

You're not fooling anywhere here, there is literally no way you're a conservative.

quote:

Look, you said that there was no way the bill could get influenced because the Dems had a super majority. I'm saying there were other ways to skin a cat.

Yes the ACA was passed in 2009 before Ted Cruz was in the Senate. The Dems passed the ACA without a single Republican vote, which means they had a super-majority.

quote:

He was a Senator and he tried a fake filibuster to defund the Act in 2013. He was grandstanding for himself and admitted as much. He couldn't ultimately block the bill but he used the deficit ceiling as leverage to pass a revised version of the ACA.

He did not "fake filibuster," he filibustered. However, this took place in 2013, 4 years after the ACA was passed. Yes, Ted Cruz tried to use the debt ceiling to defund the ACA and was unsuccessful because President Obama would have never signed a bill defunding the ACA.

quote:

The government shutdown hurt a lot of people because 1 million government employees got furloughed indefinitely

You realize every furloughed employee got paid for that time they did not work right?

quote:

and permits weren't issued for businesses who needed them to function. That was his leverage and that's just two of the ways to skin this cat, that's all I was saying.

I'd be shocked if a majority of business owners did not agree with Cruz's message, they may have disagreed with his tactics, like myself.

Becuase the "twerks" do retain any conservative values.

Obama put that forward in an effort to work with conservatives.

Is that why they were involved with the negotiations process of the bill?

quote:

liberals hated the plan from the start

Then why was the ACA passed solely by Democratic votes?

Same plan for the past 3 years or so. $2000 deductible. 0% after deductible.
