Amazing to me that even paying close to 20 an hour for people with zero experience, i still can't find good people.

You're not alone, we hire people and they last a month. Nobody wants to work, they all just want a check for doing nothing.

Yea for somebody with literally zero skills pther then the ability to show up and the will to work, 18 is pretty damn good starting pay. Our guys get plenty of OT and full benifits after 3 months. The work isn't even always hard, only sometimes.

Three weeks ago I was looking into becoming an officer because there are plenty of openings on police forces and would be a way for me to move to texas, which is where I really want to be.

I've posted multiple times about wanting to join the military.

And it's really not some ground breaking development that someone who worked in the oilfield would want to find work again in the oilfield. When you've worked "on the road", working a desk job gets boring

Jacobs Field services will hire you if you can:

Recently laid off as well and have a lead with Jacobs Field Services as 'general labor'. Not sure the pay, not sure what the job entails but if it'll get me a paycheck again and my foot in the door for a plant job, then I'll take it. Just re-applied for my TWIC which expired last year and hoping and praying for the best.

Hope it works out for you 7th!

Hurts like hell. I got laid off sometime back after 19 years with the same organization. Stay unemployed for right at seven months. Then got re-hired back along with a promotion. Asshats who laid me off ended up getting fired about three months after they axed me. Love the frick out of justice.

Good luck man.

Good luck with that one. I've lost track of the applicants I had to turn down because their piss was so hot it would glow in the dark.

damn truth...it is really shocking to me how many folks lose out on a damn good job offer because they can't pass a piss test.

at some point, it is time to grow up...

This might have already been suggested, didn't read the whole thread.

While you are drawing your pennies, you should go get your CDL. If you have it, you can always find a job quick that will pay the bills. Doesn't matter where you live, there are always jobs.

Not saying that you should make it a career, but it's a good back up.
