That’s a lot of words and typing for a prospective Wendy’s applicant.

How was Mannie Fresh not already taken? Should be right in the wheelhouse for this audience. Cash Money from the 99 to the 2000.

I've spent almost my entire career (30 years) in offshore automation.
I'd go that route. You generally have to have experience before you ca "get through the door".
I moved halfway across the country to get the experience the majors were looking for. I got the training they were looking for, etc. I targeted a few companies, learned what they needed and waited for the opportunity. It worked and I'll retire in a few years, God willing.

This is exactly what prospective employers want to hear! A snarky insult towards guys who have never done you a damn thing accompanied by an unrealistic demand right up front
Maybe I’m naive, but I don’t take that as an insult. That’s literally what I do as an Operator 99% of the time. It ain’t for everyone but I enjoy it. We work 3 on and 3 off but I have heard some companies work a 7 on and 7 off schedule, that might be a good schedule. Feel like I’d spend a lot of money with 7 days off in a row.

Get into istrumentation then do everything possible to learn how to maintain and program a DCS system: It's a very high demand niche field that'll pay you well for life!

Both are arse, but at least you have a vehicle and freedom in WT. Want a beer? You can have one. Try getting a beer offshore. Offshore has what besides being stuck out there? Don't tell me good food because I can count on one hand how many times I can say the food was good in 20 years.
Prison workers cooking don't make it taste better.

Yeah, go to EBR parish and apply. Get into a HS where you will quit in 2 weeks. People have no idea.

Not to bring you down on this beautiful Friday but just imagine some unemployed Lafayette housewife on Tik Tok who post 20 second videos once a week makes more than doctors make in a year. She's not even qualified to wash dishes at applebee's. Makes you really think.

It seems that there are many more opportunities for instrumentation techs offshore compared to operators
Whomever you are getting your info from is sorely misleading you. The facility I work on now has 6 techs across the 4 crews and At least 16 operators.

Being that operators seem to be more limited to plants
Not even close.
