Went in to get some blood work done on Friday for an upcoming outpatient surgery this week. Received a call today that I tested positive for Covid... no fever, cough, fatigue, congestion, etc. I used to work with the vendor that supplies the rapid tests for the NCAA, took 3 of those this morning and all came back negative. Long story short I'm pissed and debating on going into work because there is no way in hell I have covid again, what say the OT?

When did you have it before?

I wouldn’t tell anyone…. Unless it somehow benefits you to stay home and get paid.

What kind of test did they do?
Did they put off your surgery?

blood work seems like it would be far more accurate than the rapid tests, especially if you are asymptomatic with a low viral load

Don't go to work.
But you can participate in a BLM riot if you are so inclined.

Testing is massively unreliable and cases are meaningless. Only hospitalizations and deaths matter:

I wonder if you had a PCR test which may be calibrated to pick up much lower viral presence than the rapid tests. I’d be asking for another PCR.

Could very well have been a false positive
Go take another test with medical personnel and see to confirm

I don’t know how much faith i have in results of those tests when a person never gets sick or has a single symptom.
It’s like if you have the flu, you are dang sure gonna know you have to flu

They did a nose swab, but not sure of the test. Another element of this bs is that they won't even reschedule my surgery until after my 14 day period...

If you had COVID before and all those other rapids you did were negative, it’s probably just a false positive.

Just curious, are you vaxed?
Seems like there is a huge trend in vaxed people catching Covid.

I'm not vaccinated and they made damn sure everyone knew at the hospital. On all of my charts and notes in big arse letters they put "NOT VACCINATED".

Tinfoil hat time, they just wanted to postpone your surgery without you being able to say no.
