It's not difficult to avoid it. When we went in June one year I found a website that detailed organized activities and what parks they would be at on which days. We planned to try to miss them and only had one day when we were in a park that was going on in. Even then it was not really over the top. But this was 10-15 years ago.

That's cool and all, but the same shitty over the top reviews of Disney on here by bubbas gets old.
And I'm done with Disney myself. Enjoyed when we went back in the day. It's just too much like work and in no way relaxing for me.
I'm sure I will go back when we start having grand kids.

I have successfully reprogrammed my wife to not want to take the kids there.
