So, earlier today I walk into the corner of my dining room to find this. I see little burrows and start pressing around to find the wood is soft(picture 2)

There were no signs of anything even a few days ago because we did a hardcore clean before a home inspection(we're closing on a refinance next week)

I have pest control coming in the morning. So, do any OTers have any experience with this issue and that can give me any advice on what and what not to do. Any help is greatly appreciated

What do you think it is then? I found one of the bastards and it sure looked like a termite. After I described the damage to the pest control guy he seemed certain it was termites

I bet there’s no termites in that cheap laminate flooring.

It is. What they do once running out of wood, they start eating the paper on sheetrock.

OP, You need a full inspection from floor to the roof. You also need to look at the outside wall and area to see if you are holding any moisture. Plants, shade, ECT. Remove it ASAP.

Seems odd you discovered this extensive termite problem just hours after the refi inspection went through clean.

That's termites. They are overrated for the damage they cause. Don't worry about them.
