I thought you were a big libertarian? How could you possibly have a problem with a business terminating an employee for any reason whatsoever?

Wait, are you saying people can have their own unique points of view.

Well, if they were in Colorado and fired a liberal they would have to fight their assess off in a multiple year legal battle
that’s wrong too. I’m not sure why you people want to double down on stupid. If you actually support freedom, you should support Disney’s decision.

Also, wasn’t that overturned in the Supreme Court?

I am unaware of the contents of the contract signed by Braxxtyn. So it would depend on what is on there. Did the contract Pascal signed contain different requirements than that of Carano? I don't know that either because I have not seen either contract.

Yes. After multiple levels of the government ruled against the Baker

Time to fight fire with fire

I hope liberals start getting fired and losing their jobs for their opinions. Only way this stops

What does any of this have to do with Disney not rehiring someone?

I am pointing out to you it isn’t just private employers playing political favorites. It is the government as well

Something else you need to learn, group think is terrible and shitty.

Dumb people look at this from purely a legal standpoint simply because they don't have the cognitive ability to push through gray area. Just because something is within your right doesn't mean it's the prudent thing to do. Its ok, you can criticize legally proper decisions.

That’s a very good point

Regardless of the legality, who believes it’s good practice to fire people over politics?

So we're talking about apples and you'd like to talk about firetrucks.

I mean sure, they're both red and shiny, I get it.

you are comparing political beliefs to identities, and in the cases of the bakers, those identities were protected by state laws from discrimination

your comparison doesn't make sense from a legal standpoint

What? It’s a direct comparison

You can chose to discriminate against your employees and customers with conservative beliefs and face zero push back

You do it agaisnt a liberal and you will have a fire fight on your hands and govt will try to bully you into submission

Salmon you are so ducking disingenuous man and too smart for this

Answer this simple question. Which beliefs are protected more across the board: conservative or liberal?

Dude. No. They aren't even close to be a direct comparison.

You are now equating beliefs to orientations. These are not the same.

I like how we just breezed past the fact that she wasn't even employed by them and thus wasn't actually fired. Well, except for calling the poster that pointed it out a liar for something else he posted.

This was from the Lucasfilm statement.

quote:

Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future

They did have plans to have her in a starring role in a spinoff series though.

And her agency did drop her so you guys can shift your outrage to them - United Talent Agency.

I mean, it's not at all a direct comparison, but ok.

In this hypothetical, is my kid an at will employee of the team that signed a contract saying they were allowed to do so? Is this a travel t-ball league?

Say your kid did sign an at will employment agreement. If your kid gets kicked off for something other kids have been allowed to do, you're just going to shrug your shoulders and say, "Oh well, that's their right". You don't think maybe you would be a little pissed at the disparate treatment?

AND THIS IN ITSELF PROVES THE GOVT PICKS FAVORITES

The simple fact they make protected classes is the ultimate proof they are willing to protect others more than some

Nah dude

your comparison is extremely disingenuous

protected by whom? the courts or court of public opinion?

because I haven't seen all these examples of liberal beliefs being protected by the courts and conservative beliefs being squashed

if we are talking about the court of public opinion, then yes, absolutely liberal beliefs are more protected

Without reading the thread I'll bet many will belittle you for doing this but I personally think it is vital that normal folks start getting more outraged and expressing that outrage directly to those responsible even if it is some CR rep or whatever else.

We've gotten where we are today because for about 10 years or longer we've sat idly by when this stupid PC shite happened.

Plus it feels good to vent.
