Bought the first one in 2008, still have it and it works great.
We go up on Fridsy and leave Sunday morning.
There ain't a Coleman made that keep ic for 3 days unless they have a Roto product now...
I have 2 coleman coolers with wheels, 60 quart. They are on sale at Walmart right now for $28. They will keep ice in them for about 5 days in the shad and about 2 if I leave them in direct sunlight. I leave one of them on the boat when we camp. Its in direct sunlight. It will keep ice about 36 hours. At some point in a day and half someone is going to be going somewhere where they sale ice...it is a common commodity in Georgia, you can't sling a dead cat without hitting a reliable source of ice. If, by some bizarre chance no one is heading to one of the many sources of ice within 10 minutes of almost every location on the east coast in 36 hours I can remove a bag of ice from the cooler that is in the shade and put it in the cooler on the boat and tough it out another 12 - 20 hours or so....
So you are in Red Stick probably what, 2, 3 PM Friday? Until what, noon, 1 PM Sunday? 2 Friday to 2 Sunday is 48 hours, 2 days, not 3. Even with a scarcity of ice in Baton Rouge (as much beer as is drunk in the area it is doubtful ice is scarce) those $28 coleman coolers would do everything those Yetis do. If you like them you like them, no need to justify them, they are simply your choice of cooler....

You keep doubling down on something you're wrong about...
Thats exactly why we started using a Yeti; the opening and closing.
We'd still have ice in Yeti Sundsy morning even after the coming back after the game Saturday's game.
Any cooler may keep ice if it's not opened for 48 hours and completely out of the sun
So, yeah, that was exactly the point.

This here's America...
I have one that was my paternal grandmothers and one that was my mothers. Both 12 inch Lodge cast iron skillets, the one is probably from the 1930s and the other is from the 1950s. They are identical. We also have my wife's mother's cast iron skillet (not sure of the brand) and I have a 12 quart cast iron Dutch oven I cook fish in I found at a yard sale about 40 years ago. They are all seasoned perfectly and I wouldn't trade them for a controlling share in Yeti (yeah I would, Yeti, if you happen to see this LOL). You are spot on....

I simply do not have the attention span to keep track of what brands, especially insignificant ones like yeti, have said about politics

plug for RTIC products. Texas based company who’s quality is equal to if not better than YETI and cheaper
RTIC doesn't make anything that's better than its Yeti counterpart.

based on what? your opinion?
here’s mine:
i was given a 20 quart YETI cooler.
I purchased a Texas made 20 quart RTIC cooler.
I’ve used both for 5+ years. There’s 0 quality differences outside of the handle breaking off the YETI cooler.

I have both.
-The RTIC 45 lid won't stay open on it's own.
-The moulding/threads for the drain plug is kind of messy so it leaks just a little.
Admittedly it was an early model. I bought it when RTIC first decided they were going to sell on Amazon. Then right after that they decided that they weren't going to warranty the coolers they sold on Amazon for more than 30 days.

ahhh, so your experiences with both products influenced your opinion of the quality of the 2 products. as did mine.

Never owned a RTIC cooler, but there cup lids don't fir as well as the Yeti cups in my experience.

I'm an Orca guy meself but I don't give a shite about "woke".

Yeti has done a bit more than this they are very liberal crazy because most people who hunt and fish who buy their overpriced ice chest are not liberals and they are pushing away their base customers

GATR makes great items & they are Louisiana local.

shite is way overpriced. But, they know the game, they understand that as big as the redneck Yeti camp is, it's not small, they make more money from upscale white prog women buying 20 cups a year. Of course they are "neutral" but so far have only found time to ban conservative groups. Haven't bought yeti, won't buy yeti

I bought K2 specifically because it’s a Louisiana brand. Been great for years.

Having owned a shite pile of both, rtic lags slightly behind
Their soft coolers are trash and the molded hard ice chests lack a little detail. Don’t fit under truck bed covers and lids don’t stay open
