There was never a chance for a serious crime locally. Filing a false report just isn’t that type of crime, for right or wrong.
The important part is that they worked this hoax hard, didn’t give into pressure, and got a felony charge.
He’s a liar and a fraud and everyone now knows it.
Hopefully federal charges add a little more consequence.

He’s been charged with 2 crimes.
Why would the police offer a plea?
They have him dead in their scope.
Also, these 2 charges don’t include the charges coming down from the Feds.
