Those would have been the slaves held by Indians in the Territories over a year later. Hell, the north still had slaves after Juneteenth

The emancipation proclamation excluded a lot of Louisiana so no need to celebrate.

The slaves in the excluded areas of LA were not freed by it.

So the problem isn’t that there is a holiday to celebrate the emancipation of slaves in the US, it’s that it occurs on June 19th? There is another day you’d suggest?

I will not get mad when I stop at the convenience store at five am on the way to work and the thug in front of me in sagging sweat pants also sandals with socks on, can’t get his food stamp card to work. I’ll just say Happy Juneteenth
