It’s irrelevant here because I’m hearing about an intersection departure (shorter runway distance). Flaps being deployed or not don’t matter when your runway is 2000 feet shorter than needed.

I don’t think it was an intersection departure. I’ve watched the Reddit video and correlated it with google earth and it appears he used full length.
This is where I think the camera was

Would the right thing to do be floorboard the engines, pull the gear up, and lower the nose to bare minimum needed and try to get speed?

I see now. He probably did the full back taxi

They pulled him from the seat.

If I’m at 400’ and sinking I’d firewall it and try to power out of it.
I think the engines weren’t producing the power they were expecting. My theory is they used a de rated takeoff thrust setting, probably because they put some bad info into the computer. Or possibly the auto throttles never engaged or had a failure. Then they freaked out, tried to just pull up and completely went brain dead about pulling the gear and kicking the automation off and firewalling the motors.
But then again I could be way off.

In that video it looks like the flaps were not deployed. Maybe a stall on takeoff because of no flaps?
Absolutely looks to be the cause. There have been other crashes that mimic this one almost exactly and that was the cause there also. Pilots probably were running their mouths instead of going through the checklist prior to takeoff.

For a lot of takeoff flap settings the flaps most just extend straight back and not come down very much so it would be very hard to tell from the two videos we’ve seen so far if they had flaps out or not because of the distance and quality of the video. At least I can’t tell.

Yeah I could see that being the case also. Dual engine failure seems almost impossible. You would figure that you would retract landing gear in order to help but if they panicked who knows.

Could be severe wind shear/microburst situation but I don’t know what the weather was like at the time of the crash.

Right I have been watching the videos and it's hard to tell on my phone. Will have to check it out on my tablet later to see if I can see any better.

Indian media say they've spoken to Vishwash in hospital. He shared his boarding pass which showed his name and and seat number.
They reported him saying: "Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly."

If tweet fails to load, click here. Here’s a video of the entire takeoff roll. That plane looks like it was in trouble the second it rotated.

If this guy was on the plane there is no way he "jumped off" as it crashed like a moving train.
That doesn't seem to be the "official" version of his story anyway.
We'll see.

Indian "news" can be funny. I don't believe any of it until the Brit investigators show up.

Weird thing to be recording.
Seems to be seconds away from crashing. Video guy must have seen enough takeoffs to be able to see and hear something fricky with this one.
Could be just a good dude looking to record the possibility of something either tragic or spectacular to capture useful information.
