Actually, the places that are now doing well are the ones that didn't flatten the curve. They took their pain and now seem to be on the other side of it.

Look at NY and NJ though. The epicenter of it, down to almost nothing. A completely different trend line than the early open states.

Awesome take. You know the per capita murder rate is higher than Chicago in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans, yes?

ICU availability in many southern states is getting pretty low, and if that continues, gird your loins.

Holy shite that website is batshit retarded. 37% available beds is “low capacity”

Thats fricking criminal to tell people that. Our goal at our hospital is to be 90% full

Chitown you are either a complete idiot or a piece of shite

Exactly. But it is not due to the shutdowns. It is due to the fact that they now have some real immunity in the population. Throw New Orleans in there as well. No one wants to hear this, but we are going to need people to get infected if we are to get past this.

What do you think will happen when NY and NJ reopen, which is now starting? Do you think this thing is just going to magically go away?

There was always going to be a “spike” when a state reopened, expecting otherwise is dumb. The point at the outset was to not overwhelm the health system. In Houston at least I haven’t heard anything about us being close to that point

Do you live in Houston? Do you have business in Houston? Have you ever been to Houston?

Most sane companies in the area are now back to in office staffing numbers at 25-50% and by mid July slash August that’ll be closer to 75%.

This woman is taken about as seriously as a politician as our family maltipoo. COVID quarantine in Houston is over with. We are the energy capitol of North America. A lot of responsible adults have and will make responsible adult decisions weighing the pro’s and con’s of getting back to the real world. Will there be consequences? Maybe, not a lot of evidence points to healthy adults under the age of 65 being dramatically effected by this.

You and Linda or Lina or whatever her name is with sociology degree from wherever voted in on Beto’s ticket. I dunno, I sure AF didn’t vote for her. Y’all can say what you want and make up nifty graphics all day long to present at press conference in $2k tax payer funded power suits. Doesn’t matter. Life is going on despite COVID. Let adults make adult decisions.

I honestly don't know enough about the reopen plan out there, but maybe the incidence is low enough that it'll continue to taper down. Only time will tell... there and everywhere.

Basically shows that 15% of ICU is Covid and total ICU is at 76% capacity right now... And that if they opened up the additional resources once they got to capacity, they can take in another 90%.

ETA: Total ICU in Houston is still below 50% max capacity
