Well, he's not wrong. But that wasn't a smart thing to do.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Social media will be the fall of mankind.

No reason for a chief of police running around telling people to "grow some fricking balls" on facebook. If you want to be in that kind of position of responsibility, you should act like it.

Having expletive filled rants on FB is a bad look, especially for people in a position like his. But nothing in that rant is racist and if they are saying he's fired for being racist, then that's messed up. Calling these cop killers terrorists is, by definition, accurate.

This isn't just some random person on facebook ranting. He's in an appointed position, albeit in a small, rural town. He should have the intelligence to know everything he says, especially on facebook, will be scrutinized. I doubt he would have been fired if this was in a speech, but it's still possible. Have some sense. He knew the current situation going on with all this crap, and if he wanted to make a statement, make it a little more professional.

I'm also in agreeance that he shouldn't have lost his job, but he was ignorant to do something like that.

Duh, he's criticizing a black public official for the way he publicly responded to an issue. Everyone knows that it is racist to criticize a black public official for the way he publicly responds to an issue. Therefore, Chief is a racist for criticizing Obama. Council is racist for criticizing Chief. You are racist for criticizing black council members (but not the white ones...that's cool).

I saw (White police officers) in there. Bad move. Color hasn't mattered to shooters. It makes him look racist.

When will people learn to stop putting statements on fakebook and other social media????

In his defense, they probably just figured out this internet thing in Jonesville.

People try to get people fired on here for saying some outlanfish things, so when a police chief says something controversial hes going to be held to even a higher standard. Best to just stay away from social media when your in that type of position, especially considering the timing.

unbelievable. If here were an african american cop supporting BLM, would he have been fired??

I would have no problem with the above just like I have no problem with what the chief said. unfortunately, you have to be mindful of what you say and where you say it. Not everyone is afforded freedom of speech

When will people learn that Facebook is possibly the dumbest thing to have as a professional ?

Not racism, just telling it like it is about Obama and obviously the black mayor and town council don't want to hear it. Skylar Dore will likely not have a problem finding a better job.

Good. One less racist pos in a position of power. I hope this keeps happening. Maybe soon police will actually do some good besides handing out traffic tickets.

You're not even a good troll. It's pathetic. If you're gonna waste your time trolling at least be good at it.

I don't know the guy or the whole story, but that sounds fricked up. However, we all know the world that we live in, so he knows that almost anything posted online can be interpreted as or twisted into saying something that could get you fired.
