Nah. The market will phase gas powered out for most consumer vehicles in due time. These “bans” will be worthless because the market will continue to embrace evs with each passing year. With advances in battery and charging tech over the next 2 decades, people won’t feel forced to buy evs. They won’t want the gas powered vehicle anyway.

which is a much more sensible approach than bans. let free market dictate consumer decisions. keep the government out of it.

The government only "does something" here because of politics, not need.

Battery capacity has to improve and cost needs to come down. When that occurs, people will prefer electric.

Not disagreeing, just curious if the technology will improve that much in 13 years. It's possible.

Just imagine if the Boomers didn't protest nuclear back in the 70's. Climate change wouldn't be a topic.

Fixed it for ya, Rog. Just another thing they ruined, right?

Every major manufacturer is dumping billions and billions into ev tech right now. I think it’s a safe bet there will continue to be massive strides in capacity and charging capability in the near and medium term future.

Like I said, some of us will be around to see if that happens. Maybe every other country will jump on board the EV train as well.

Sounds like the government is trying to force the free markets hand.

Guess it's time to buy more $PLUG calls.

I don't think Louisiana will follow suit by shooting for 2035. But I could see a 2050 target for Louisiana under the current leadership. There's no telling what kind of battery or energy technology we'll have by then.

Maybe by then we will have something that is viable. Only time will tell.

You actually think EVs won’t be dominant within the next 20 or so years? Why not?
