I know several people who sit through all day time share presentations just to get a voucher for vacations.

My orients have 2 of them, no idea what happens when the pass. Guess I need to make sure they don’t leave that shite to me.

Best one is they got one in Orlando thinking the kids/grandkids would use it when they go to Disney. But because of the distance from the parks you have to get a rental car and make sure you have your car seats. They also insist on coming along if you use their time share, which means you now need to pay the upgrade for the extra rooms you plan on having your kids sleep in the same room as you. They also hate the parks so you really only see them in the morning as you’re heading out.

I used to find these segments interesting, but then he did one on an industry I know a lot about, and after that I can't look at them the same since I have to assume he's leaving very important things out.

and the same people lambasting Tucker in this thread jerk off to Oliver's poorly researched and poorly presented segments as gospel. all the while knowing that Oliver probably has a team of a dozen writers, researchers, and prodcuers for a weekly segment. and the other....writes his own narrative, by himself, for a daily show

I immediately lose respect for anyone that mentions having a timeshare.

mostly did it because they are starting to get called other things.

also there is another emerging industry that claims to get you out of timeshares but is just as much a scam. i had no idea bout those.

My dad made the family sit through their presentation one year on our trip to Florida. After an hour he looked at the presenter and said I’m not buying the shite so just give me the tickets. Then he chose Epcot

But also, most timeshares are ripoffs. Not all, but alot

Yep

I have one that is a pseudo timeshare i got in MX a few years ago. You are moreso paying in advance for a discounted rate with upgrades than buying an actual share of the space.

The resort group are one of those wilder resort groups. We have no desire to go there every time. It exchanges with a ton of stuff stateside (which is why we bought it). It isn't the best thing ever, but if I pay attention to it, its vastly below retail prices when we are ready to go somewhere fun. Had a ski trip to steamboat booked for a total of 300 for an entire week last month that i had to cancel.

Time shares are a scam, I don’t know how they continue to dupe people, having said that, the wife and I went to listen to a spiel in Cabo last November to get about a grand worth of free activities, free killer breakfast buffet along with drinks, took about two hours

We have family friends who own a timeshare.
They love it. They've had it for almost 30 years.

Theirs is in Orlando.
The difference about theirs is that they can swap their timeshares with other people.
And since theirs is in Orlando, they never have an issue finding a timeshare near a city that they want to visit to swap.

They max out their usage every year. And it sounds like a bargain compared to what hotels cost these days near anything with a tourist attraction.

I figure they are the exception to the rule.

good lord

How about you factor in all the $$ you’ve already paid for the “right” to take that “$300” week long trip!
