It was unintentionally left behind by The Beatles' road manager after a live performance in 1963. John wrote and played many of The Beatles' early hits on this guitar including "I Want To Hold Your Hand". Recently, a guy who has had it for the last 45 years realized it was the missing guitar. It smashed all music memorabilia records when it was sold this past weekend for 2.4 million dollars!

With 2.4 million dollars you could buy a ticket to ride anywhere.

I bet he feels fine.

2.4 million dollars would help to be a nowhere man smoking Norwegian wood with a ticket to ride here, there, and everywhere if you can't be a paperback writer.

Sounds like a hoax. How did he prove it was Lennon's guitar that was used on those songs?

The serial number of the guitar and also photos from 1963 that showed the patterns and defects on the guitar matched.
