My first question is:
"why is this open to outside companies anyway?"
It should go to instate companies that hire in state people. Even if the bid is higher, the money staying in state would outweigh that negative.

Another clown is Wes Wyman who is head of the contractors ethics committee. He owns a construction company and likes to rip off/gyp his own subcontractors.

I want the cheapest services at the highest quality so the money can be stretched as far as possible. I don't care where it comes from. As we're seeing currently in the OP, the less in-state involvement the better off we likely are.

It's a shame what the politicians to do our state. I know it still wouldn't be the best, but imagine how great our state would be if the politicians weren't so corrupt and actually did what we paid them to do. Right now, our taxes basically just fund crooked people, and have for a long time.

did they invest the money poorly or did it all go to claims?
this should have been my first question. if it went to claims that is one thing.
FEMA paying $8,000 for $500 worth of work to a select few large contracting firms tells you exactly where a lot of the money went.

You can't be serious! The OP is about an out of state company, which makes it easier to come into the state and hiring a local to bribe. It helps cover the tracks.

You think there's corruption now? Put this stipulation on it. Every bid would have been for the $250 million available.

Who had a local connection to a corrupt member of the very board that awards the contracts.

Which would be harder to cover up as an in state company with in state competitors all knowing each other. If a lawyer or senator s son worked for an in state company, EVERYONE in state would know.

And nobody would do a thing about it. Don't bite the hand that feeds you

This state has a long history of complete corruption. The less in-state crony capitalism involving disaster recovery, the better.

You can bet the bank that the in-state cronies are getting their cut.

LoL. I used to think we were the kings of corruption in LA. We don't hold a candle to some place in the US. NY for one and, believe it or not, OK make us look like amateurs.

We should burn Baton Rouge (the state gov, not the city) down.
Can we consider Middleton as a state government entity and burn it too?
