He's definitely a piece of shite governor but can't the parents just opt out of the jab with a signature?

The rule would initially apply to students 16 and older, beginning next August at the start of the 2022 schoolyear, the governor said. Like all other school vaccination requirements in Louisiana, parents and students could easily opt out, with either a letter from a medical provider or a simple signature in dissent.

How about we stop letting them negotiate our freedoms?

Question: if JBE can just say it’s so, can’t the next governor just undo it?

Yes in the meantime will suck but can we look forward to it being potentially reversed?

You are still allowed to opt out with a letter from a doctor with this vaccine mandate.

I watched the hearing & if I understood correctly

If 2 students contract Covid around the same time it is then considered an outbreak & all unvaccinated students will be prohibited from attending school for 14 days

First of all they aren't "negotiating " our freedoms. It's a damn dictatorship. I was just making a point that we can say fu-q if we want.

It’s no different from the other vaccines in this state when it comes to the exemptions. You are still allowed to opt out with a letter from a doctor with this vaccine mandate.

a) you have no kids. so stfu
b) you’re wrong as usual
c) again, why does it have to be mandatory? why can’t it be by choice? if you and your purple haired boyfriend have kids one day and want to run medical trials on your child, go for it. how does that effect my child?

Then unvaccinated kids get sent home when two vaccinated kids test positive.

I thought you were against discrimination?

Following an hours-long oversight hearing chock-full of misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, the Louisiana House Committee on Health & Welfare voted 13-2 to oppose the rule, with a string of mostly Republican lawmakers labeling it a form of government overreach that infringes on parental choice, despite Louisiana's exceptionally broad opt-out provisions.

And that’s the kind of unbiased reporting you can expect from the Sadvocate.

frick that worthless puppy training paper. A completely irrelevant piece of crap liberal rag. It no longer serves this community as it did when I was growing up here. It’s is the enemy, and more importantly, it has no conscience anymore, and doesn’t even know it should be ashamed of this kind of journalism. That’s how hopelessly lost it is.

The only misinformation in the hearing was from our own LDH and Dr. Kantor.

Bobby Kennedy presented Phizer’s OWN information which Dr. Kantor said was incorrect.

He also kept saying parents can opt out, which is not entirely true.

Kantor and Avegno are only out ranked in the sky is falling by Lord Faucci. If the true failure of these shots ever make it to the light of day they need to lose their medical license.

I would agree - that's terrible journalism. Saying "chock full of misinformation" pre-supposes the author knows what information is correct - which is very dubious and unprofessional and quite frankly breaks all rules of journalism. I'm sure there was misinformation from both sides - the writers job is to document what was said not opine and be judge and jury on it.

And I don't have a dog in this fight like many of you do politically but his next statement re: "mostly republicans" tell you exactly where he's leaning in this fight. You don't qualify the event with your personal musings unless it's an Op/Ed piece.

Just terrible biased reporting. Back in my day my editor would have never let that drivel get past the cutting room floor.
