Job interview attire. Kind of spin off

Haven't been on an interview in a decade. What is the norm nowadays. I wore a suit last time and other applicants were in khakis and polo shirts.

I always wear my best suit and favorite tie to job interviews.

An interview is an opportunity for a possible employer to get to know you, what does a suit tell them about you? Nothing.
Wear something that fits your personality and makes a statement about who you are. Not just another lame arse in a suit.

Typically a suit is only recommended for Executive level jobs or jobs in finance or legal.
Know your industry.
You really cant go wrong with a nice dress shirt, dress slacks (not khakis), and a nice pair of dress shoes.
Protip: Just because your dressed nice, there's no need to go nuts with the cologne.
Eta: It's winter, so a nice winter sport coat would not be out of place, but skip the tie.

Wore a suit one time and everyone else in the office was wearing a polo/button down with jeans/khakis. Was for an assistant PM job. Felt like a huge tool. Thanks LSU Construction Interviewing Day career advisers for always saying to wear a suit.

You can never have too much money, friends or cologne. shite wears off throughout the day so pour it on thick in the morning to last til show time.

Wear a suit. Even in O&G, wear a suit. Dark grey or navy is the standard paired with a white or light-blue dress shirt and a simple tie. You want them to remember you looked professional, but not exactly what you were wearing.

I just think of it as a first impression. You can't go wrong with a suit. Besides, if you are open to advancing within the company, you need to wear a suit to an interview.

Don't know what piping design is, but rule of thumb is, white collar job = suit, blue collar job = dress pants and dress shirt.
You can also wear a blue blazer with slacks and tie if not sure.

That is so wrong I don't even know where to begin. You should wear a suit to interview for a vast majority of office jobs.
