need some advice from the OT. Currently, I have a good paying job but the company is terrible. Terrible management, most coworkers are useless and benefits are mediocre at best.

If all works out, i will have an opportunity to land a job at new company with 100% paid medical/dental/vision, unlimited vacation, matched 401k(4%), and paternity leave.

Concern-base pay is $30k less than what i am making now. OTE should, at the minimum, match my current salary but have the option to greatly exceed it if i meet the quota.

Go after the job or stay?

How long have you been with the current company? Also, big difference in travel distance or anything like that?

Burger King does suck. Go for the Chik-fil-a position.

6 years, no additional travel. Commute is a little longer but they offer 2 days a week to work from home.

My job has unlimited vacation and it’s very nice to take off a Friday when it’s really slow without wasting vacation days

One misconception about benefits is the company pays for them. They don’t. You do. And firms always seem to reduce benefits over time. Rule of thumb, take the money and stay where you are at. Talk to them about career progressing. Get your MBA. Only way I would take a 30 k cut is if I didn’t need the money, and the job was more interesting, but don’t let benefits be the deciding factor.

This is BS. Get this in writing if true. Companies tend to make promises in the interview process in order to sell you on the company. Unless you have it in writing, the only thing that matters is what's in the employee handbook. My money says it doesn't say unlimited vacation...anywhere.

Its not quite a cut, in base it is, but it is a sales position similar to what i am doing now. i just dont get commission anymore due to a company restructure, just a larger salary.

New company, smaller base but commission is much higher.

Take the new job, use your “unlimited” vacation and never show up. Stay at your current job but with a 70% raise

medical benefits + 401k match will go a long way to make up that $30k.
better quality of life is priceless.

lets assume for a minute that you can't make up the pay dip via OTE. can you live on $30k less? if so, absolute no brainer.

So, you'll be busting your arse for commission in order to make what you're making now?

Benefits probably make it worth it, if you think you'll enjoy the work. If you'll just be miserable, then nah.
