I blew my Achilles on vacation, and dragged my leg through the airports on the way home. Just couldn’t do the wheelchair.
Side note: When you’re physically handicapped, nobody looks you in the eye. I guess they don’t want you to think they’re staring.

Why do you need front row parking for that?

Why not track on the manifest who needed a wheelchair to board then have them stay in their seats until everyone else has deplaned? If they aren’t in their seats then it’s noted and they go on a list showing that do not receive assistance in the future. I’m sure this won’t fix the issue entirely but imagine it would help some.

You would see it a lot on southwest when it was pick your own seat

You want to get on first to be up front and not get middle seat

Other airlines doesnt make much sense

IMO, vets should have front row parking anyway.
Some of those are mental illness and PTSD guys.

So they can pilot a couple thousand pounds of metal at high speeds around their fellow humans, but they can't walk more than twenty feet at a time?

“Disabled veterans” is the biggest racket in the DoD. I know two personally who receive military disability benefits who neither served nor were injured in combat or combat training. One “hurt his back swimming” and the other spent a grand total of five years in the military, never left the country, and damaged his hearing working at a naval yard.

Im going on record that ai reels showing the imagery of an idiom immediately makes it not funny. Explaining the joke instead of leaving it to the persons own mental imagery takes all the humor out of it.

Jetway Jesus because they can walk, and its a miracle… you get it? No? Here is an ai gif of the joke…

A huge % of human beings are just extremely shitty and will exploit things if no safeguards are in place.

Society wants to put programs and things in place to help the less fortunate and that's great, but we need to get way more fire and brimstone about the trash who abuse and steal from these programs.

A lot of old folks and sick or disabled people are capable of standing up and walking a few feet, but that doesn't mean they can walk across an airport or stand for a long time.

I have very little cartilage in my knees amd sometimes my knees hyperextend. Sometimes it hurts to walk and other times it doesn't.

If I can pre-board and rest, many times I can walk off the plane.

Not everyone has to be or has been cured by Jetway Jesus. Everything being said, I am sure that there are people who fake disabilities. I have a mobility impaired ID amd will use it as necessary.

I'm not in a chair I have never been in the chair outside of the hospital and the Rehab Clinic and they wouldn't let me not have a chair when I left the hospital per the rules

Last month my husband and I were flying back to NOLA from Fort Lauderdale and we were next to the gate going to Chicago

There were TWENTY SIX wheelchairs waiting to get on the flight to Chicago - I counted bc I was bored

Of course, some of the people were old but most were not

There were only 6 (which is a lot also) to NOLA.

In the case of Southwest it was a huge issue under their old boarding process as folks doing this would take up all the front seats forcing everyone else to the back and then getting off the plane, which most would want to do as soon as possible could take 15-20 minutes.

I absolutely believe it to be the reason for the change in their policy.
