Looking to buy a new toy for my husband/family. 2 young kids. As of right now, we are divided on this decision.
Kids are 3 and 6. Neighborhood is ideal for golf cart but also live near back bay with access to private pier.

Golf cart you can use daily. You will rarely use a jet ski unless you have a camp/house on the river

If that's your butt in your avi then get the jet ski.
My experience with jet skis is this. They are great for 30 minutes. Then they aren't great.
How is a golf cart a toy?
If you are female...

Do you live closer to a golf course or a body of water?

Don't let the kids drive the neighborhood in the golf cart unless you show them how to respect other vehicles. Several 10-12 year old kids riding around mine at all hours day and night and have no clue. How they haven't been smashed is a testament to adult drivers paying attention because they sure don't.

Get a family ski boat. Then everybody can ride and enjoy the day.

I've wanted a jet ski for awhile but I feel like we have to get 2 if we get them. I have 2 kids so all four of us can't ride on one.
I would still probably get a jet ski out of those two choices. I just don't see the fun in riding around the neighborhood in a golf cart.

Tough call depending on how much use you'd get from them.
The kids will be terrors to the neighborhood on the golf cart and wear it out.
A single jet ski usually can't hold a family and becomes the dads getaway vehicle.
A nice used ski boat for $10k, puts the family together leading to ski, tube and enjoy the day.

Golf cart. Should have less operating cost and more frequent use year round.

Jet Skis are no fun riding by yourself.

Depends where you live. I have a Jetski (A Seadoo GTI, actually is purple and gold, how fortunated...). They are fun but they are a money pit. Always something.

Considering the age of your children, a jet ski sounds like a bad decision.

Not a golf cart. You need to walk off those muffin tops.

Love our golf cart, and I hate jet skis.
