Jefferson Parish business owners sue John Bel Edwards over WuFlu restrictions

I hope Judge Janice Clark grants the Injunction against the Governor because the business bankruptcy filings are piling up in Louisiana because of the Governor's order. People are losing everything they have worked for over governmental restrictions that haven't shown to work.
NOLA
"Three Jefferson Parish business owners filed suit Tuesday against Gov. John Bel Edwards, seeking to overturn his July 11 order mandating masks statewide, closing bars and limiting gathering sizes to 50 or fewer people.
The petition, which relies heavily on an opinion published by Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, seeks an injunction, arguing that Edwards' order is unenforceable and should be struck down."
"The plaintiffs claim their businesses were devastated by the governor's original state stay-at-home order issued in March. The latest order, they assert, will be even more destructive to their livelihoods and violates their right to peaceful assembly and free expression."
"The order is "unconstitutionally vague, riddled with many exceptions, many of which are subjectively determined," the suit says."

I don’t care about the mask mandate. Just stop closing businesses.

Let’s go. How about a class action suit. Surely, Edwards would agree with plaintiffs right to relief.

This is what we've been waiting for. Let's geaux

A facial challenge for over-breadth is an incredibly long row to hoe. I'll be very surprised if an injunction is granted.

Finally! Now maybe more will join in.

Exactly.
Mandating people wear a mask is one thing.
Forcibly closing businesses is a completely different issue.

Hmmm, I thought we hated lawsuits. If it matters I agree businesses should be left on their own to decide whether to be open or closed based on their risk tolerance.

But what we hate more are ridiculous mandates that are harming millions.

but, is that the case here?

Courts will be inundated with corona and riot cases for years to come. Add to that the backlog of normal cases created when many districts put a halt to all jury trials and some other court business, and the next few years is going to be a royal clusterfrick.

I don’t think anybody is against lawsuits.
Now had you said frivolous lawsuits then you’d be on to something.

Businesses and their employees have had enough of this BS. It has to end or at least look like there is an end coming at some point.
