IMO has turned into the go to vehicle for lesbians

I have seen no evidence that it has overtaken the Subaru.

Zero chance I would get one for a daily. I am considering getting a CJ or older for the ranch but I’m still trying to decide between that and a SxS.

For an off-road capable daily I’m stuck on Lexus. Comfort and more than capable for what I need. I wanted a Braptor when I replaced my GX earlier in the year and there’s no way I could deal with that thing as much as I drive.

More likely chickens and New World Screwworm flies. And then there’s another poultry disease in Canada right now. And I started a masters on top of all that. It’s not that I don’t care.

Lesbians or not, unlike Jeep, Subaru is a great brand these days. Very well made and objectively more reliable than Toyota now. Not sure about the new 2025 designs though since it seems like they abandoned the wagon and went straight to making SUVs only. I love how the old Outback looked and almost got one.

My wife has had 2 jeep wranglers . The 1st was a 2014 and it did great for us. Our family just outgrew it. The 2nd was a 22 wrangler 4 door soft top. She loved it but it wasn’t reliable. We finally got rid of it after 5 months in the shop due to electrical gremlins. It cost me $3700 to get it fixed to sell it. It had 71k miles.

That’s great advice. I may need to put a few extra gas cans on the back as well to make it to the mountains of North Carolina to my hideout. Once it’s loaded down with all the ammo, probably get about 8 miles a gallon.

You need to just trick it out to run biodiesel and navigate your escape to hit every fast food restaurant along the way to WNC and fill up at their fry stations. You’ll also need some ammo and water just in case you happen upon any competition. Pew, pew, pew……,,

The oil pan is plastic

Just to expand on this, and yes I'm quoting myself, but the problem with this is that the drain plug on the oil pan isn't plastic, it's metal. So every time you have your oil changed, unless you're doing it yourself, you run the risk of the tech over-tightening the plug. If you over-tighten a metal drain plug on a plastic oil pan the chances are very high that the whole thing needs to be replaced.

If it's under warranty, great. But knowing that risk, why would you buy that? Just get a Toyota/Subaru/Honda whatever suits your fancy. Jeep/Ram/Dodge/Chrysler is trash. Teslas look like Brother/Epson designed a printer/car and just went with it.

/Rant off.

Tomorrow, I'll have the privilege of driving Louisiana's oldest WWII veteran in my 1945 GPW in a Veteran's Day Parade.

I have a 2013 4 door wrangler. I bought the bottom of the line sport edition with zero bells and whistles so I could add everything myself (except a snorkel ). Its really enjoyable taking all the doors and roof off. Probably the best part.

I have had zero mechanical problems besides alignment due to a lift and 35's. That leads to road comfort. It isn't a great long trip vehicle if you move away from the dealership models and do the trail type add-ons. Friends that keep the sporty stock editions have a better long trip experience. Its definitely a niche vehicle and you love them or hate them.

We've had a great time off roading in Big Bend and CO and if you are an out doorsey type, you can't beat a Jeep. I'll wave at other Jeeps, but have never fallen into clubs or the duck thing. I'd buy another for sure.

That could possibly be the worst new car purchase you can make.
