wtf. 6 freaking people have passed away and it has caused people to lose their minds.
If we declared war on China an hour later there would be zero Americans dead, but people would be losing their minds. Should they not?
No one is losing their minds because 6 people died. They are losing their minds because the “experts” are saying that if we don’t take drastic measures we’ll lose 450,000 American lives. That’s not the flu.
Now, these experts might be wrong. I quoted the sane ones. There are plenty saying over a million. A lot of doubters are lulled into it by the fact that China and S Korea seem to have gotten it under control, but the recent models show that they will have a recrudescence, and that it will be about as bad as if they had done nothing.
Our politicians are probably trying to implement a strategy in which we shut this thing down while we try to raise our health care capacity - more ventilators, beds, nurses, etc. - then let slip the dogs of war and hang on for all we’re worth.

I’m curious, have we ever been successful in stopping the spread of the annual flu?

Do you think this is a gotcha moment? Yes they all need to be out. It’s not about being political dumbass, it’s pure government overreach and you’re taking it up the arse like it’s going out of style.
Then Trump voters need to be more careful on who they vote for as opposed to falling for moronic taglines like "MAGA." Until then, they can lie in the bed they made of their own stupidity.

This makes zero sense.
I've heard more on the left blaming Trump than China- who purposefully suppressed information when this first started happening. In fact, many are DEFENDING China. That says everything.
Thankfully, there's a 99.99999% chance you hold no position where decision making of any kind is involved.

Old news, don’t trust a word that guy says. Sensationalism at its finest.
We go through this annually with hurricanes. You people never learn that experts aren’t always correct, modeling is simply that, not fact.

Stopping? No, of course not. We have been very successful in limiting it. But this is very different. 450,000 dead is 30 times worse than the 15,000 annual flu deaths. Also, no one is even contemplating stopping this.

At least you aren't using best case numbers vs speculation numbers to make your point.

You mean take their OWN money before Bernie and crew get to waste it? Yeah I can definitely see that. I might even buy a new AR-15, or donate to Trump's re-election campaign

Some people can’t concentrate enough to follow an argument. I never said or implied there would be 450,000 deaths. I’m saying that the experts are saying that IF WE HAD DONE NOTHING we would have had that many. Since that is an unacceptable number, Donald Trump - the one man most motivated of all the people in the world to keep our economy going - is shutting us down.
Dumb arse!
