So 2000 jobs in tech is "one of the most significant economic development announcements in Louisiana history"???
90% will be H1B jobs.

H1B visa program needs to be fricking ended. Such a scam.

The two reasons why big companies never locate to NOLA are crime and the lack of good affordable schools.
I don't think these people care where they put their H1B employees.

I think the new owner has shipbuilding interests already and bought it to shelf the potential for any competition to set up shop

If this seriously ends up being a tech support call center full of foreign workers making $35k, I'm going to die laughing.

Some changes are needed to put it lightly.
A lot of these types of companies are finally getting attention for taking advantage of tax incentives and move into an area. They bring in foreign workers instead of developing local talent. After their incentives dry up, they move onto the next victim.
This is honestly not the kind of tech company Louisiana should try to obtain.

Ever wonder why you aren't seeing them working very hard with LSU, Southern, or ULL? Unless Trump curbs these work visas, they won't even try.

He's got enough financial trouble right now without buying Avondale.

It will be 70K jobs....but it will be jobs that would take $125K for an American to do and $100K for a Cajun to do.

Can’t think of anyone else with shipbuilding interest that would want to buy it just to keep competition out.

It’s no Amazon but good news for New Orleans.

JBE is pimping an out sourcing company. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

I am excited about DXC and the jobs that they will bring, however the key for this announcement is that they got a major employer to say yes. That makes recruiting the next company that much easier.

I guess it is better than nothing....but I'd honestly rather them offer tax incentives to a company that will make a real investment in the state in return and commits to helping local colleges and universities build curriculum and a recruiting relationship.
That isn't what we have here. It's another out sourcing company.
