College is just such a tough deal with that many kids that close together and they are not going to stop getting together to socialize. Best they can hope for is to keep the numbers manageable I guess. No “phases” are going to change that.

My daughter is in college and other than a situation of some off campus parties, most of the rest of her college life seems like they can handle this crap well.

Must wear mask in their dorms and basically anywhere on campus. No visitors to dorms.
The union gaming area is closed. All seating areas in and around the dining areas have plexiglass between and next to each person at a table.
Add to it that most of the classes are virtual, I would think the colleges are a safer bet than K-12.

That is for those that live on campus. Not the off campus crew

"Out of an abundance of caution due to the storms.."

What in the ever living frick does a hurricane hitting the LA/TX border have to do with some baw that wants to get a beer in Bogalusa? Does the hurricane make his local bar more prone to Covid?

This whole state needs to collectively nut up and start ignoring his mandates. What's he gonna do? Arrest us all?

I would just be happy if one fcking person in the media would ask a tough question during one of his press conferences in regards to his cherry picking of stats to fit the agenda he's driving. Just one media member.

That's really all I want to. Except these media assholes give him lay ups for questions over and over again.

Parishes will start moving for a "regional" approach to phase changes.

Interesting to see if JBE pays off his buddies in JP who refused killed off Carmouche's coastal lawsuits or throws them under the bus (Hi Cindi!) (Hi Cam!)

You sound like a spoiled brat.

After Memorial Day, there was a spike in the numbers, then after the fourth of July there was another spike. Numbers are finally starting to go down, but with this this storm, with people having to relocate from Lake Charles area and more people having to be together, etc, that is likely the reason for the extra two weeks.

Does it suck? Absolutely. but at least the numbers are going down and hopefully this storm doesn't have a huge impact and cause a big spike in those numbers.

A spike in what numbers? Test? Cases? Deaths? Hospitalizations? Vents?

What spiked?

I don't see how anyone thought we'd advance right now.

The plan is obvious: we've got football coming up, and the numbers are dropping. Stay exactly where we are, go a couple weeks with football and see what happens. If everything is good, move to phase 3.

No reason to move right before football starts, we'd possibly see increases again that would threaten the opening of the season.

This would be great if we were not dealing with political low watt dimwits who don't think logically. Your thought process is too logical and very likely not the reason for the extension.

you think fans are going to be in the stands for football? Not as long as we are in Phase 2

I'm not sure which is a more damning indictment of state and local decision making:
1) Keeping us in Phase 1.3.141714 despite evidence to the contrary or
2)Keeping us in Phase 1.567982 so we can have football in a few weeks.

No, I don't. But I think there will be games played.

If we can play games without issue (as compared to 50% of the teams getting sick within 2-3 weeks), then we start easing the fans back in incrementally.

This way, the season likely proceeds, and you can tweak attendance as needed to keep it stable. If you go phase 3 right now and let full stadiums happen, and we get a big spike, everything might shut down completely again.

Big picture, my friend
Hopefully things are open by the end of the year.

you should pay closer attention

Majority of LSU offensive line quarantined due to coronavirus exposure

quote:

Players who test positive for the coronavirus must isolate for at least 10 days after their positive test, according to Southeastern Conference COVID-19 protocols. Their symptoms must disappear for at least 24 hours before they can return to practice. Individuals with high-risk exposure must quarantine for 14 days.

It is absurd seeing people cheering on our retard politicians opening up stadiums while they still are crushing small businesses.

Wonder what jobs Biden and Pelosi promised him for ruining the state's economy?

Cause that IS the situation we have going on.
