why do you need to get tested?

So you don't have to self-quarantine if you have come into contact with the infected individual (unless you have it too)

Don't be the a-hole who doesn't tell the group they were bitten until it's too late.

Good thing everyone doesn’t puss out about the flu like this coronavirus. We would be quarantined all winter long.

Family &friends, travel companions, coworkers.
It starts with those closest & most likely to have contact & fans out from there.

I don't believe so. The CDC had some warning of false negatives early on if I remember correctly, but mostly seemed CDC BS justification for limiting testing so much with their criteria. Have not heard of false negatives from Labcorp or Quest testing.

The busiest time of Mardi Gras was about 2 weeks ago, the virus has about a 2 week latency period before people begin showing symptoms. I don't know how likely this is, but it is possible we are going to begin seeing more cases arise over the remainder of the week and into next week as those people infected at Mardi Gras begin to show symptoms.

One more reason why Mardi Gras is the worst holiday ever.

Info says that It MAY take between 2-14 days but the median time for symptoms to appear seems to be 5-7 days.

If by 2 weeks you mean like 5 days, then yeah.
